Even if I create a "smart" playlist and clear the 'match checked songs only' box, iTunes never plays the unchecked songs unless I actually force it to play the song. For example, if iTunes is shuffle playing this playlist, it plays only the checked songs. If i double-click on an unchecked song, it will play and then just stop.
Seems like this behavior puts a damper on using the checked songs trick for synching a large collection to an iPod, since the songs are never played by iTunes either. -Clark |

That's true, and a 'feature.'
A song's checked status can be a criteria for smart playlists, but is mainly intended to remove the song from iTunes' play queue & 'shuffle pool.' I forgot about that when I had recommended you use this method... Sorry. :/ |
