Hi,
Since Sunday afternoon, every time I try to connect to the Apple Music Store I get the following error "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection timed out." The weird thing is that I was actually using the Apple Store quite happily when this started. iTues has been running on my PC quite happily for many months. I am running Windows XP with SP2 and Zone Alarm as my Firewall. Any assistance with this problem would be greatly appreciated as I had just bought some songs which I cannot now download. I have tried de-installing and re-installing iTunes I have tried de-installing and re-installing Zone Alarm |

Open up the "Internet Options" control panel
Click on the "Connections" tab Click "LAN Settings" Uncheck all of the boxes. This fixed my girlfriend's problem. Jimjawn http://propersky.com |

I've got the same problem but all of the boxes were already unchecked on mine. Anybody have any other ideas.

Did you try restarting the computer, or power-cycling your modem or router (I have no idea hw you connect to the internet)?

Not sure how "smart" they're making ZoneAlarm these days...make sure that edgesuite.net isn't being blocked (specifically, ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net).

Sorry for the lack of info. It's hard to type with a baby in your arms. I've got broadband. I've already restarted my computer. I went straight into itunes and it gave me the same message. I also tried disabling my firewall. That didn't work either.

My problem relates to searching only and I have found that if you change the iTunes country setting (foot of the home page) to something else (i.e. UK to USA) it starts working, change it back and it stops. Conclusion - its the iTunes site (UK) not my PC that is at fault.

This has been happening to me and my roommate on her computer off and on all weekend. Very frustrating as she just got an iTunes gift card, but because of this can't use it.

In my network settings, I had to uncheck Web Proxy and Secure Web Proxy. Dunno how those got checked, but it had something to do with Comcast.

My computer had a trip to the repair shop and now I need to authorise my ipod to my itunes but can only do it via the itunes store, but I keep getting the connecttion timed out message. Itunes support told me to take off spyware and firewalls, but that did not work, so i deinstalled all the 5 aspects of itunes and re-installed but still no joy. I am no computer wiz and could really do with some step by step help. Please?

Guys if you all are having issues the LAN settings need to be unchecked under internet options....Not sure why but mines were checked, I unchecked them and closed and reopened iTunes and all was good....If their not checked off, check them off restart go back in and uncheck them....this WILL fix the issue.
