Got my new Ipod (hurrah!) but it's driving me nuts. I've loaded everything from the cd (onto my XP pc) and downloaded Itunes from Apple. But neither Musicmatch nor Itunes recognises that the Ipod is there. I know my firewire connection is working because Itunes opens up when I connect the ipod and it's charging, so what can be wrong?

Have you upgraded to the 2.1 Firmware?
Might want to try that. Also, uninstall the MMJB iPod Plugin--and get rid of MMJB while your at it, but do it in the order I specified. Adam

Yep I've done this. I've spent the whole day removing programs and reinstalling. My firewire card is definitely working. At one point, I managed to get it recognised and transfer some songs. Now, without changing anything, I'm getting a message that it needs reformatting for use on pc.

I encountered the same issue which I put down to installing a later version of Quick Time when I updated my AOL account.
Uninstall Quick Time and Itunes Reinstall Itunes Job Done! ...well it worked for me anyway! |
