How do i stop my ipod from auto updating everytime i connect it to the computer. ive had a look around in the options but havent found nothing

You have to have the iPod connected for the setting to show up in iTunes. Go to Edit>Preferences>iPod and check the box for manual syncing. If you don't want to autosync when you connect the iPod to do this, hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift till a few seconds after the iPod appears in the source list.
