Transfering Files From iPod To PC?

Recently I had a major disaster with my computer and had some of my music library backed up but not all. I have a 10GB iPod which is nearly full and can't figure out how (or is it not possible?) to transfer mp3's from iPod to iTunes Library. Need to do this to make room for new music I want to transfer. Suggestions?

I've seen alot of messages recommending no need to maintain all files on pc hard drive..just keep everything on the iPod. Only downfall is if iPod has to be reformatted. Any suggestions on backing up files? I'd be bummed if I had to reload my cd's onto my pc!

in windows, under folder options, check "show invisible files." I dont remember the exact path, but your music is located in folders F00-F19 (20?)

you should be able to just drag these folders to your computer. The downside to doing that is many of your mp3's will have numbers for names, but not all. They will (should?) retain all of the ID3 ta info, tho.....

There's numbers of options:

*MC9 let you do it fast and quick, and will rename the files.

*Ephpod can do the same, somewhere within the program.

*if you use total commandor there's a plugin to transfer them with that.

vPod will proberly do it to...

or you can do it as ah me mon describe.
