Itunes does not detect Ipod at ALL !!!!

Hi Guys

I am a newbie so please be patient.

Recently I tried to format my IPOD. After doing this I decided to re-load all my music. Halfway through this my computer crashed. I re-booted and it did that windows disk check or whatever it is and came up with some message which it repaired.

After I fired it up again, my Itunes simply wouldn't recognise my Ipod.

I have treid the posts and some of the suggestions. These are the things I have done to date

1) Installed new Itunes 6.0
2) Changed the firewire port
3) Reset my Ipod
4) Loaded it in disk mode.

When I check Explorer it clearly shows that my Ipod is connected to the PC it is just damn Itunes.

The thing is charging through the firewire and I get the 'do not disconnect'.

For the life of me I cannot work out why Itunes wont pick it up.

PLEASE HELP ME !!!

This is in the wrong forum. But I would suggest you reinstall the fireware on the iPod using the latest iPod Updater on the RESTORE option.

I have had this problem myself a few times. Usually, this problem can be fixed by just opening iTunes with your iPod connected and waiting a good five minutes or so. I am guessing your USB ports are not USB 2.0 ports... Am I right?

Also, if you have more than one USB port, try the ones which you've not yet used.
