Hey guys,
My iTunes software isn't letting my edit my songs! Whenever I right-click "get info" to edit, or double-click on the songtitle etc, I am unable to type! The song info seems to be read-only...how can I change this? Quick help needed! Thank you in advance

Are you in auto-sync mode? If you are
in iTunes -> Edit -> Prefrences -> iPod Tab -> Manual Mode. |

How did you import these songs into iTunes? You need to right click>show song file location and uncheck the box that says 'read only' on all of those songs. However you imported the songs you didn't do it so that they can be edited.
Post how you added the songs to itunes.

For windows 7:
1) Open itunes and right click on the file you want to change 2) Right click on ‘Show in Windows Explorer’ 3) Right click on the file and click on ‘Properties’. 4) Click on ‘Security’ 5) The first item is probably ‘System’. Click on ‘System’. 6) Click ‘Edit’ 7) All ‘Allow’ boxes should be checked. Click Allow at the top of the column – it will check all boxes automatically. 8) Do the same for all items listed, ie: Administrator, and all Users etc. You are done. |
