I just bought my first lot of tracks from the Apple Music Store (3 albums) but I now find that I can't burn them to CD-R.
I made a playlist for each album (between 47 and 54 minutes each) but when I hit BURN it says: The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD ...and offers the choice of splitting across multiple CDs. If I say yes to this, it then says: None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc I can burn onto the CD-R with the regular Windows XP process (files) and create audio CDs in Windows Media Player, so why doesn't iTunes work? Note that I also tried making a CD from existing MP3s ripped with WMP (and a third-party MP3 encoder plug-in), which burn fine in WMP, but it throws the same error. Also, some of the MP3s show up as a silly length (eg 15:XX minutes for each track) whereas others are correct. Have I just spent $35 on music I can only now play on my PC?! Nothing useful on the Apple Support website, of course. It mentions that message, but in the context of a playlist which really is too long for the disk, which mine aren't! Not impressed... S |

...that this is on a regular desktop PC with a Lite-on 32x8x12 internal CD-R/RW drive, which does show up correctly in "Edit -> Preferences... -> Burning" like the manual says to check.

No audio books. Just 12 newly-purchased music tracks from new album by Travis, total 44.1 minutes. It doesn't burn existing MP3s either.
The Burning prefs are indeed set to Audio CD. It recognises the drive, and offers the correct range of speeds (up to 12x for this drive). |
