Angry help -- dumb question on deleting

I have read all of the postings I could find on this topic--deleting unwanted tracks and playlists--but there is one serious thing I can't find -- where is the trash can?? I have been to itunes 'help' I have scoured the itunes screen, can I find the 'delete' option? No.
Going mad as need to delete and reconfigure since my pc repair man moved a floder.
please tell me in words of one syllable. going mad and feeling stupid!

Welcome to the lounge.

1-The *trash can* is on your desktop on the computer. It is not in iTunes.

2-The *delete* option is a key on your *keyboard*. You highlight the song(s) you want to delete and then press the delete key on the keyboard to remove the songs permanently from the iTunes library or you can right click on the song(s) & when the menu appears, select "clear". This will also remove the song. You can do the same for playlists in the source list.

Hope that clears it up for you.
