Data CD Vs MP3 CD?

Haven't tried it yet, but does anyone know what the difference is - I would have thought they'd be pretty much the same.

A Data CD is basically the same as a CD that you would burn through any other CD software. It is designed to be used for backup purposes, and will include all files from your iTunes library, regardless of format. Even PDF files of album covers (as some iTMS downloads have) will be included.

An MP3 CD is designed to create a CD that can be played in MP3-compatible CD players. It will include only MP3 files, and will organize them into a file system layout suitable for MP3-CD players.

Data CD Vs MP3 CD

do you know what will become of, say, .wav files that are included in a playlist burned as an MP3 CD?

will they get converted to mp3 or just ignored?

i know i could just try it and find out, and i will the next time i am going to burn something

in the meantime i thought i'd ask so as to maybe avoid wasting a cd (its an evironmental thing for me, not the cost)

thanks

They are not converted. This includes WAV, AAC, Apple Lossless, etc. Basically anything that's not already an MP3 will just be ignored.
