I have a PayPal accound and it works fine and everything. Used it will ebay and other places online and everything worked a-okay. When I try to edit my credit car info in the iTunes music store I click the little PayPal logo and it takes me to the screen and says "To validate your paypal account.....click here" I click it and the arrow and nothing happens at all. It doesnt link me to a new page or anything. If anyone could help me out that would be amazing. I dont know why its not working.
Thanks jack |

My first question would be why not just use the credit card rather than paypal if your having so much trouble.
My next would be what browser are you using and is there a popup blocker stopping anything from opening ?

I don't have a credit card and everything with the browser should be fine. No pop up blocker on and just Internet Explorer.

I am having a similar problem this evening. (8/8/05)
I want to register to buy songs through PayPal. When I run iTunes and surf iTMS, pick a song I want to purchase then get sent to the register page in I tunes. When I pick pick Paypal as the payment option, my default browser opens and I go through the process of approving a preapproved Billing Payments agreement for iTunes through PayPal. Whe I am done with that, the Web browser takes me to the Apple itunes download website and wants me to download the iTunes software to run on my computer. But, I AM ALREADY RUNNING itunes! and it still does not recognize the paypal account. very frustrating |

I'm having the same problem - - - I hoped that downloading version 5.0.1 would help, but it's still not connecting when I try to validate my Paypal account.
I called Apple Support and was put on hold for 25 minutes before I gave up. Then I emailed them, and despite their assurance that I would get something back in 72 hours, I haven't heard anything at all (more than 1 week later). Has anyone found a solution to this yet? This is really annoying! - - ginny |

I was having problems with this for months. I was reading and re-reading the instructions and was still having this same problem. I almost gave up.
Well, I have recently switched my default browser from Firefox to AOL Explorer. I tried the paypal thing again through iTunes and when I clicked the 'Return to Merchant' button, it WORKED! I think it my be related to Firefox. Try setting IE or AOL Explorer as your default browser, then going through the Paypal setup again. Good Luck. |
