Can you make iTunes resync info after chaning ID3 tags with external application

I have just done a lot of bulk ID3 tag changes with an external application (ID3-Tagit), but iTunes does see the changes.

The only way I can update iTunes is:

1. Do "Get Info" on each track
2. Remove the tracks from iTunes and re-import.

Is there any kind of 'resync' feature which will get iTunes to re-read the ID3 Tags?

Other than deleting the tracks out of the library and re-adding them, I don't think so.
As long as the filenames are the same, when the tracks are played (or as you say, "Get Info'd"), iTunes should pick up the changes.
