iPod touh 2g stuck in headphone mode

[Hahaha47]

I recently purchased this iPod from a friend and he told me the speakers no longer work on it. I googled it and found many solutions.

I tried every fix there is for this out there, except opening the iPod itself I was wondering if anyone knew what was causing this and how to fix it, there is nothing in the headphone jack but I think it has something to do with my friend dropping the iPod because it has huge cracks on the screen and he said he dropped it a lot, I don't think it has seen water at all. Is there anyway to repair this without buying new stuff?
