Hey everyone, quick question followed by more info if it's needed. How do I export my calendar (and all the notes from the individual events) to either gmail or something else as a ICS, CSV, Excel, or XML file? What is the most reliable service (yahoo, gmail, something else?)
Background. I've had my touch for 2 years and have had syncing problems the past six months or so and it's cost me real world money. I have a yahoo account that I have it synced to for business, that way I can type an event into my ipod and whenever i'm near wifi it'll wirelessly since to the "cloud" and someone else can view the update on a computer logged into that account. This is crucial for my job. I've had 3 times now where it'll just suddenly stop syncing, I can type an event into the ipod and it'll never sync back to yahoo. I've tried to manually re enter everything online (time consuming), erase my whole yahoo info on my ipod, then resync and this has done the trick a few times but it's happened again and I really don't want to spend 3 hours retyping everything into my yahoo account. Good news, I have the "week cal" app which allows me to export everything as an ICS, CSV, Excel, or XML file and send it to myself via email. Could I perhaps just export all my data to my laptop, create a gmail account, then export into gmail and continue things from there? Believe me, I've searched for hours trying to figure this out, I called apple support and they just suggest deleting and resyncing but that's only been a temorary fix. I'm running a 4g ipod touch using 5.1.1 This is my second touch, I had one get flattened in a car door and both ipods have had the same syncing problem (had the current one about a month). Anyone delt with this problem? Thank you so much! |

hello, i have the following identical issue. I use the default Calendar app on my iphone but i am receiving sync errors while trying to sync my appointments with my yahoo calendar. I am thinking of just switching from yahoo to google calendar.
more information: i have read the entire thread here but this did not get my syncing issue sorted: discussions[dot]apple[dot]com/thread/3186946 I am using iphone 3. If i export my iphone calendar to my computer and then import it to yahoo calendar will that work. if yes how do i use itunes to export my calendar to my computer. |

What do the "sync errors" you are being returned read? You can sync your iPhone calendar to Outlook on your PC via using iTunes but not export your iPhone calendar to your PC in an iCS file (Yahoo calendar will only accept ICS files when importing).
Exporting your iPhone calendar into a separate file on your computer could prove tricky. I am not sure whether Outlook will support exporting in to ICS but you can try it out. |

"The connection to the server failed". I opened iTunes and as you asked synced my iphone calendar to outlook (actually in itunes there is no other option for syncing calender but Outlook - I am on itunes v11).
I then tried exporting the calendar events form outlook but could only export it to an excel file. what a mess... i will just dump yahoo and create e new calendar in google. thanks for trying to help. |

try exporting your iphone calendar events into an ICS to your computer as described here: How to backup iPhone calendar to your computer?
You should then be able to import the calendar from your computer to your Google Calendar or to your Yahoo calendar. If you still have the CSV calendar you created earlier, you can also simply import this file to your Google calendar. |
