I am kind of new to the realm of jailbreaking, so I would really appreciate some guidance.
I bought my current iPod Touch 4th gen this January and jailbroke it with iOS 5.0.1 (I think? It was the most recent update at the time). Since then two new iOS updates have come out and I have not updated them in fear that my iPod would no longer have all the capabilities of being jailbroken. Again pardon me if this sounds stupid, I am very new to the concept. My question is whether or not I can update the iOS software on my iPod Touch, or whether I have to jailbreak it every time a new update comes out. (And if so, do I load the jailbreak before or after I update the software?) Thanks, MarieBee |

If you upgrade your iPod to a newer firmware you will need to jailbreak it again afterwards.
Hope I helped!

no offense to anyone, but why would anyone like to jailbreak their iPod? jailbreaking iPhone or iPad or even mac is fun. similarly it is huge fun to make hackintosh.

Jailbreaking an iPod touch is just like jailbreaking an iPhone.

As of my experience, jailbreaks are not for regular users. You simply don't need to do that if you're simple user. Not to mention that, I'm not either encouraging or discouraging anybody on this issue. Just expressing my personal opinions only. Sharing is caring.
