Mediamonkey wont recognize my ipod!

So I've been having a problem recently. I have a laptop and it got a virus so i had to go get it cleaned. when i got it back i tried downloading music onto it with itunes but it didnt let me, so i called apple and they told me to download a software for a PC that'll let you download music to your ipod without you having to delete all your stuff. so i searched some up and i downloaded media monkey. So i installed it and i already have my music in there and stuff but the only problem is that when i try to sync it, it wont recognize my ipod!!! ive tried to configure it, its pulgged in and my itunes even recognizes it but not media monkey. HELP PLEASE!!

You can use iTunes to sync content to your iPod without erasing it, this is called manual syncing. You just have to enable that option in iTunes. Your best solution would be to copy content off of your iPod back into your iTunes library and continue using auto-sync. You have to download the MediaMonkey beta if you want to sync with an iDevice running iOS 5, the beta is located here. You can use that to copy the media on your iPod to your iTunes library. After that, import everything into your iTunes library so that you can go ahead and erase and syncing your iPod using auto-sync (things get messy when manually syncing with iTunes and third party programs).
