What do you guys think about the future of the iTouch versus the future of the iPod classic? I'm curious.

There is any never have been a product called the iTouch.
In time I suspect Apple will stop making the iPod Classic and just make the iPod Touch. The fact Apple now calls it iPod Touch (was it always iPod Touch) is interesting, kind of tells me the iPod Classic will be history. |

It has always been called the iPod touch (technically with a lowercase t and not a capitalized one, so no iPod Touch) ever since Apple introduced it in 2007. That was also the year when Apple added a sub-name to all of their iPods making them the iPod classic, iPod shuffle, iPod nano, and iPod touch. They did away with the standard iPod name. In the past, the large capacity iPods with hard drives were simply called "iPod" and only the smaller sized/capacity models had sub-names.
I would not be surprised if the iPod touch is cut down to "iPod" this year along with the iPod classic being discontinued. The iPod classic was not mentioned at last year's annual iPod event and it wasn't even in the picture of Apple's iPods at the end of the presentation. The iPod classic also hasn't been updated since 2009 (two years now) so there is a good chance that it will be thrown away here in another month. The iPod touch is now Apple's flagship iPod though their flagship device is still the iPhone (followed closely by the iPad with the iPod line in the middle and their Macs at the end).
