Red face Deleting duplicates off IPOD not ITUNES

I have searched and searched for this and can't seem to find the answer. I have an iPod touch that has been with me for 4 years, many different computers. I have it set to Manually Manage Music and Videos.. I have a TON of duplicates acquired over this time and have to get rid of them. Is there anyway to do this without having the music in my iPod Library. I have no music in there, I usually just plug in my iPod, get whatever music I want, add it and delete it off the computer.

PLEASE HELP!

You don't need the music in the iTunes Library to delete it off the touch. Connect and select the iPod in iTunes. Expand the iPod in iTunes by clicking the triangle to the left of it's name and select Music. These are the tracks on the iPod and can be deleted by selecting the ones you don't want, right clicking selecting delete or hitting the delete key on your keyboard.

Now for the standard word of warning, an iPod is a bad place to keep the only copy of your media files since iPods can be easily corrupted, lost or stole. Even if you don't want to keep a copy on your computer you should have CD/DVD and/or USB drive back ups of your files.

Don't delete song by song will take you hrs to sort your music out.

download Sharepod down and transfer all your music to your compputer.

this program will sort out all the duplicate songs from your ipod and transfer to your computer.

Now that you have all this song stored to your computer, select the one that you want and put it to your itunes and restore or sync your ipod.
