iPod Touch 4th Generation Wifi intermediately works

I've got the 32GB iPod Touch 4th gen. My problem is it will connect to my home network, but then after a little bit of time it will stop working and tell me it was unable to open the page. The only way I can get the internet working again is to disable wifi on the iPod, enable it, then click my proper wifi source. I had an iPod Touch 2nd Gen prior to this, and didn't have this problem. I have just recently upgraded the router, so I know that's not the issue.

I'm using

Digital Cable with Time Warner, Wireless N
TRENDnet Wireless N Home Router TEW-652BRP
Password protected WPA2

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When my router is getting rammed by traffic I occasionally have the same problem. I just hit Airplane mode on and off and away it goes again. Not a cure but works rapidly.

4G Touch but no idea what the router is, came with the Virgin Media package.

I'll try that next time the problem occurs Brio thanks, benwon that's unfortunately not an option right now.

So far I renamed my wifi and for some reason the problem went away. Hopefully it's gone for good!

I would suggest rebooting your router and your touch. If you have wireless phones (land line phones not cell phones) that work on the 2.5 GHz freq I also would suggest powering off the base station. I recently had Intermittent wifi problems. The touch would connect but could not access the internet and would then disconnect (the computers in the house couldn't connect). Rebooting the router would fix the problem but it kept happening. It took a while to notice that the problem only happened after I answered the wireless phones. I unplugged the base station and after a few minutes plugged it back in and I haven't had a problem since.

Hope this helps.
