Heres a juicy one for the ipod experts here!!
I have an Ipod Touch 4g that has well and truly decided to die on me! Started the other day, the girlfriends been having some problems with it so decided to restore it for her. Plugged it in, went into itunes and restored it. The restore failed with an error code I can't remember stupidly.... At this point, the Ipod wouldn't start up again, just get stuck with the apple logo and the white start up cog in the middle of the screen to show its loading. It won't start what so ever. Itunes won't see it to be able to restore it. I did the reset holding the power button and the home button to see if that did anything and nothing. I also put the ipod into DFU mode and now although Itunes sees the ipod, it seems to think its an iphone so obviously updating the software will not work, can't restore it because it is trying to put the iphone software on it! I'm getting desperate now guys! Nothing is working what so ever!!!! Little help please guys

Hm....sorry to hear that. I'm not exactly sure, but try restoring it again and write the error code down. Try to google: Itouch error code (error code number)
And then look around for help. If this didn't help, then at least it got bumped. |

Two words: Apple Store. I mean, a 4 is still under warranty, right? and even if it's not they'll still help you for free if it doesn't involve new hardware.
If that's not convenient, try kicking it out of DFU mode with the program TinyUmbrella (freeware, Google it). Third idea: try this: http://forums.ilounge.com/1393692-post4.html Last edited by Lanulos; 01-05-2011 at 06:37 PM. |
