Rearth Ringke iPod touch 4G Case Review

Today, I received a Ringke iPod touch 4G case from Rearth.
First comes the packaging. I just have to say that it is simply... simple.

Which is a good thing. You just have your cardstock outer package, with a plastic part inside holding the case with a cardstock iPod "dummy" inside.
Because that is all you need. No fancy gimmicks, just a down to (R)earth package (I'm sorry, I just had to add that in there ).

Next comes the case itself, which is great. It looks to be a silicone case like most, but it's not. It is made of its own special material by Rearth. I personally prefer it over silicone, because it does not have that sticky feel. If you look at it, it looks like a hard case.

A drawback I see with this case is the small piece of material between the home button and the 30-pin dock connector. It is very thin, so it can move about if inflicted.

You can see that it has a nice cutout for the Apple logo on the back, which at first I saw as a negative asset. After I got the case and put it on, it looked nice, and seemed like a great part about the case.

To insert the iPod in, first slip the top of the player into the top part of the case, then slip the bottom of the case over the bottom half of the iPod. Simple.

On the bottom, there is a nice cut right under the home button which is a nice addition to the case. There is a slight lip along the outside of the screen which makes me feel just fine about setting it face down.

The cutouts on the back are just mere millimeters off of their targets, but without taking a close look at it, it is unnoticeable. You have your camera and microphone exposed well.

You have your sleep/wake button slightly raised to the perfect level, and the volume buttons are the same way.
They are in the perfect position to press and I like them much better than pressing the buttons without a case on. Which is something that definitely cannot be said about most cases.

On the bottom, you have openings for your speaker, 30-pin dock connector, and headphone jack. They are all made for perfect ease of access for what you need them for. So you won't have to take off your case just to charge your iPod.

All in all, I would give this case a 4.9 out of 5 stars. With such a great material that it is made out of and few flaws, this is a phenomenal case. I was contemplating spending $35 on a hard case, but I am glad I got this. And honestly, I would prefer it.
You can get this case at rearthusa.com for $16.99 with free shipping (which is dang quick, I might add).
It comes in 14 different colors, but I chose black.
