Well for me - yes it is fine.
If I could have afforded one I would go with 32G, but I am and a tight budget.
Take a look here http://forums.ilounge.com/1383606-post5.html it has most of the app's I have on it.

I use mine mainly as a PDA and it is super.

And It connects to the internet much better than ANY PDA I ever used - even a $600+ HP Ipaq.

If you can afford a 32gb, I'd get that.

Be warned, the 8GB 3G Touch has 2G hardware inside. It did not get the processor and graphics upgrade that are found in the 16 & 32 GB 3G Touches. If you can afford it I suggest you buy either a 3G or 4G touch. If you can afford it the 32GB touch is a better deal than the 16GB model.

I got the 32 GB model. FWIW, I have 2,364 song on it and it takes almost 15GB with a 192 kbps.

I was unable to use the lossless format and get it all on.
