Jailbreaking 2G 3.1.3 problem

Just to keep this short.

Currently on 3.1.2

I've been trying to jailbreak for a few days now so it's kept my iPod useless, basically, on reboot, it'll bring up the connect to iTunes USB screen, and be in recovery mode with no way out, except for restoring.

I could work it fine for 3.0 and I'm not sure what's going on

EDIT: Now it's just going to that screen when I restore..

why not do a restore, update to 3.1.3 and then use the spirit jailbreak?

I used it on my MC model (3.1.3 out of the box) with no problem at all, works/worked great

I can't actually find Spirit to download, I had a go with sn0wflake and it wouldn't load the custom firmware :/

Redsn0w 0.9.4 will also work on an MB model with 3.1.3 but you have to point it at a 3.1.2.ipsw when it asks you to select your current OS version.

Spirit worked awesome so much easier to use, just hit jailbreak and wait, so freakin simple.
