is my touch 3g?

Alrite so I just got the 8gb ipod touch on 1/27/10 and i was just wondering does that mean my touch is 3g I havent been able to find out because some people are saying that the 8gb cant come in 3g and other people are saying that yes the 8gb in stores are the 3rd gen. So can anyone help me out??
