Ipod touch in recovery mode, need data

Hi,

I tried to update apps today and the ipod froze. I reset it by holding home and power, and now it is in recovery mode, and i cant get it out.

I have the option of restoring the ipod, but im not sure if this will loose any data? I have important info, especially in the alarm notes, notes and the to do list (downloaded app).

The ipod touch isn't jailbroken.

Is there a way of restoring the ipod without loosing any data at all? or is there a way of extracting files in alarms, notes and to do lists before i do the restore?

Thanks for your help!

Jon

Your Touch should be backed up each time you connect it to your iTunes library. All of this information can be re-loaded after you restore it. So if your last sync was recent enough, then your last backup should get you back in business. When you restore it be sure to choose to load your last backup (i.e. don't set it up as a new iPod).

If you have not sync'd the Touch lately, or have made a lot of changes on the Touch since your last sync, then you may be out of luck since I don't think any applications can extract that kind of information, especially while it is in recovery mode.

Hi thanks for your reply.

What about if I take it to an apple store? Do you think they could extract this kind of info?

Thanks

Perhaps, but I have my doubts. Did you not sync the Touch to your iTunes library recently?

Yes, a sync should back up not only music, but calender, notes, contacts, game data, etc. You can check the date of the last backup by going into iTunes Edit/ Preferences/ Devices and you'll see your iPod's name with the last backup date and time.

Hiiiiiii
If restoring will delete all your important data then do not worry as you can recover all your lost data with ipod data recovery software. It can recover the lost files in just few minutes and gives the output of high quality.
