I received my ipod touch 2nd generation today. It worked fine out of the package. Plugged it into my computer which runs Windows XP home edition w/ the latest itunes and the touchscreen would no longer work. I tried the hard restart and restoring it and nothing will help. Screen won't recognize touch to even unlock the screen. Is there anything somebody has come across to fix this or do I just have a dud. thanks.

It sounds like your touch screen cable may have come unplugged, or even might be damaged. Have you dropped the touch, or has it received a blow of any kind? I do NOT recommend trying to take it apart yourself to tell, as you will almost for sure break the glass or the lcd, and damage the touch screen cable in the process! If you are interested, we run a store where we repairs iPods all day long, we'd be happy to help. Just email me at [email protected] or reply here.
