I don't have an answer for you, but I just wanted to second this problem. Funny thing is mine started a week after I got it, too. Anyone have any info on this?

I still don't know, but sometimes the sleep and volume up buttons get stuck or something and the volume goes to 100%. I turn it down, but the volume automatically goes up again. Do you have that problem too?

Have you tried resetting and/or restoring?
I have a 1G touch and every few months iTunes will tell me that it's corrupt and needs to be restored. I reboot and reconnect it and iTunes syncs w/out any problems. To reset (reboot) your touch press and hold the power/sleep button until the red "Slide To Power Off" slider is displayed. Slide the button to the right to power off the touch. Then press the power button to turn on the touch. If resetting it doesn't work, try a restore. Good Luck

Yup, when I first encountered the problem I restored and rebooted a number of times. Also, when I totally shut down the iPod with the sleep/home button combo I am unable to turn the iPod on again until I hook it up with a USB cable. Weird...

no mine isnt turning right up. its only when i go to use it it turns the ipod up, or use the sleep button. both fuctions occur at once. kinda annoying when you want to turn up the volume on a game and the screen goes to sleep haha.
i have restored it when i just jailbroke it and it still is doing it. btw it was doing it b4 i jailbroke it so dont go saying its bcoz of that. have also reset it too... |
