BIG problem with 2.0 on Ipod Touch.... EQ settings messed up!!!!!!!

I´ve been using Ipod touch since its launch, and been updating it regulary... even with the extra paid update from January... I´ve been using the R&B and Electronic EQ settings with my different headphones and they have been working the best.. well now I updated to the 2.0 and love the extra functions but these Eq settings have been messed up. .. and now these settings sound just like the EQ is off or in the Flat setting!!!!! I´m very upset cause I built all my system around this sound and now I lost it!!!!!! I contact apple support and they couldn´t help me.. they asked me to make a restore and even get a new download 2.0 from their server... but nothing worked!!!!!! have anyone notice this???? what can I do???? I really want those eq settings back!!!!!

Where are you setting the EQ, in the tags of songs, on the Touch itself, or both?

For songs that do not have the EQ preset in their tag, the EQ settings on my Touch 2.0 seem to work just fine (though I normally leave it Flat).

For the few songs I have that need a Bass Boost (where I've preset that EQ in their tag), those seem to be unaffected by whatever EQ setting the Touch is using. The way its supposed to work is that you shoule be able to temporarily change the EQ for such songs, but that doesn't seem to work now.

Refer to this article on EQ:

I have the same problem

I have been always using all my ipods (nano first generation, ipod video 30gb and iPod touch) in "rock" or "latin" mode in the EQ settings. But with this new software 2.0 those modes sounds just like there wasn't any EQ. However, it doesn't happen the same with other modes like "pop" or "bass bost". Does anybody know how to fix this ?

Finally I have found someone that has noticed the same thing as me. I have tried this all three different iTouch's and found that about half of the EQ settings have no effect at all including Hip-Hop, R&B, and Rock.

I have also noticed that if you are using 64kb ACC coding, NONE of the EQ settings work! Very strange- why would Apple do this?

Someone elsewhere said to remove all music, do a complete restore, make sure their are no eq settings for music in iTunes and sync music once again. They said this fixed the eq problem.

After hours of doing this AND installing 3.0 in the hopes that Apple actually fixed this issue, alas, nothing. Same problem- some eq's work, some don't. I tried contacting Apple with zero response. It would be better if they just flat out removed the eq settings they deem offensive rather than tease us with them. Sheesh.
