Question Docked Volume VERY LOW on Touch

I have purchased the docking station for my iPod Touch. I have used the same cable, currently plugged into my stereo for my Sirius 50, to plug in my docking station. The volume on the Touch through the Docking station is DRAMATICALLY lower than my Sirius...or my other componants.

The volume on the Touch is set to maximum.

I have the cable plugged into the DVD component jack on my stereo. All my other componants, including the Sirius when it is plugged into this cable, seem to have their volume set at about the same level as my FM on the receiver. I don't have to alter the volume when moving from FM to tape or my "auxiliary" port (DVD). BUT, when I have the Touch docking station plugged in, I have to more than quadruple my volume on the stereo to hear the music. This is OK for my main speakers, but I have some wireless speakers around my house, and having to turn them up materially causes a LOT of static and distortion.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Talking Problem Solved

Looks like a hardware issue. I bought a separate headphone->stereo input converter and plugged the Touch in to the video jace and the volume is being properly regulated.

There were a lot of people who read the post, but no one had an answer, so I figured someone else may want the answer.

The cable cost $4.89 at Walmart.

What do you mean headphone > stereo converter? A lead with 3.5mm jack one end and 2 RCA plugs on the other? I've got a similar problem plugging my touch into my car's Drive & Play iPod sytem. It's fine when docked properly (with a proper docking connected) but far too quiet when I just plug it in as an aux input using a headphone lead. In my case I'm hoping a cheap docking type cable might make it louder
