Question Streaming over wifi

Greetings All,
I know this topic is not really clear on what I am asking, Sorry for that!!

What i want to do is on my home network I would like to build a web site making all of my Music, Videos and Movies available through wifi to my families ipod's so that they may access them using WiFi and even make changes to there ipod libraries, I have already built the site and made it active on the intranet it can be surfed to through safari from any of the ipod touches and my iPhone.

I now need to find a way to make it possible for family members to say watch a movie over wifi without having to download it first. BTW all ipods and my phone have been as we call it here JailJacked and they all work fine. Does anyone know of a third party app that allows either the iphone or ipod touch to download files from any web site ? also any AVI movie players that can be embedded into a web site to allow a movie to be played directly in the site ?

Thanks in advance for any and all help in this matter!!!

Well, if it's already a website, you don't need to download the videos - you can watch them streaming. All you need to do is have the videos in the correct format and open them in Safari and they'll play. For example, go to http://www.archive.org/details/Popeye_forPresident and hit on one of the MP4 play/download links.

As for AVI, I think you're out of luck for the time being - you'd need to convert to a supported format until someone decides to port Mplayer or VLC to the iPod Touch...
