Umm, yeah, I know it's called the ipod touch because you touch the screen, but I'm looking for a stylus for a specific use, not to use all the time with the ipod.....

I saw that. However, you aren't going to find a thin stylus like what you want. The technology in the iPod touch (just like with the iPad and iPhone) is different from tablet computers. You would have better results using your small finger as that is about the smallest stylus that you will find for a touch screen iDevice.

Well I've been looking at a few people online who have been making their own. The end results using conductive foam seem to look very similar to the ones available to buy.
However I've discovered that you can also buy conductive rubber or silicone. Surely using this you could create a narrower nib? |

It would still have to remain thick enough to mimic that of actual touch input. iOS (and respective hardware) was developed around touch input. That is why 3rd party stylus solutions are so wide, they essentially mirror that of a finger. You might be able to have a thin stylus but the iPod touch might not be able to pick it up. The type of material is only half of the equation, the size combined with the material make it work.

Yeah, maybe that's the case. Might try & get hold of some conductive rubber & have a play around. See what the smallest sized piece will work just held in my fingers. The minimum surface area of your finger that will work is absolutely tiny, the barest millimeter you can touch to the screen, so it mght work...

What would be really annoying about using a stylus to draw with?
I'm not asking if it's a good idea, or whether I should use one, I already know I want to use one. That's really not all that helpful. |

I tried a few of the iPod touch compatible stylus and they do not work that well. You have to press too hard. Don't even try one with a screen protector on. This goesnfor iPod and iPad. I wanted to try one because doing certain things I did not want finger print marks all over.
