Independent playlists in iPod Shuffle

I currently have a 512 mb shuffle. Its cool and all, but I wish it had independent playlists. I like to have all my songs divided into 2 playlists and another for podcasts. What I was wondering is if Apple could change the software in an upgrade to allow multiple playlists in the shuffle. They could use lcd indicators and manipulate the buttons easily imho to accomodate this. It would make life a lot easier if I could jump to a separate playlists and I dont even really need a screen to do that I dont think lol!

Any suggestions? This would also open up possibilities for a 2gb shuffle. I love the simplicity of the current shuffle but it needs to be tweaked imho. The idea of screenless doesnt mean you couldnt have playlists or( "folders" essentially), of music.
Does anyone know if the non apple shuffle applications out there allow for separate playlists?

you could use blinking lcd to indicate the folder # easily.
Say you press 4 times, then youre in the next folder ( 2 blinks)
Is that too complex for you lol?
