Other flash players that have...

Can anyone point me in the direction of an alternative to the 1GB IPS? I want an MP3 player with a rechargable battery built in, and has a USB plug right on the thing, no dongles/cables/etc. TIA.

To my knowledge, there is none; I can think of players with the USB plug, but no rechargeable batteries (MPIO), and vice versa (Creative Muvo N200). Why not the iPod shuffle? It meets your needs perfectly, as far as I can see.

Pfffft.

Just get the iPod shuffle; at least you know it's probably a good product (it's from Apple).... apparently it does what you want it to do, etc. Maybe you should go to an Apple store and see one in person? I saw one in person and it was way smaller than I expected. I'm serious; it's about the size of a really large pen.

Personally I like the JetAudio line of players.

Apart from the Shuffle, the only other ones I've ever seen are those crappy imported ones up for grabs on ebay, from non-branded companies and made from paper-thin plastic.

Thanks, I'll go look them up.

edit: ...OK, so the older U2 line has a rechargeable battery inside. It still needs an adapter to plug into a computer.

Same price, and size as the 512mb Shuffle with the attatched usb but no rechargeable battery.I had the 256mb version, a very good player, but not as good as the Shuffle.
