The Shuffle is definately one of the coolest MP3 players out there. No it's not the smallest or most efficient, but it's design is so sleek, it makes me want to own 7. it compliments whatever you wear... In fact, most concider it a fashion accesory, which is slightly rediculous, yet completely understandable. None the less, the shuffle is a great ADDITION to your harddrive MP3 player. I don't see it as an alternitave. Use the shuffle when you want a little of you music with you without any bulk.

The i-Pod Shuffle is great! I was going to buy a flash drive for data transfer, but this gives me an awesome music player at the same time! Awesome!

It's small, efficient, seductive, easy to use and it works.

What more do you need?

I was really excited about the iPod Shuffle. My wife and i had started working out again when the Shuffle was announced. It seemed like the perfect player to have. I use a 20GB 3rd gen iPod which works great, but all the horns and whistles of the iPod aren't necessary at the gym or when working out. You don't spend time browsing through songs so you don't need a screen, and the extra battery life would be great. The size is perfect and actually a great value, compared to other players of comparable size. You can't find many 1 GB players for 150; most closer to 200. You also get the great Apple design and look. I think Apple is owning the mp3 player market. What a great idea. Even those with the original iPod are wanting them. Can't wait to get one! It's too bad that they have been so hard to get. What will Apple do next...

Well, I am at a very far down list of people here.. but I will voice my opinion anyhow. The shuffle isn't what i thought it would be. But i must say it is attractive and fun! at first i thought it might not be such a great gadget no lcd..and stuff but i think its cute i mean when you want to take it to school or to the gym. you can just put it around your neck and your good to go! i think its unique and that's what makes it such a great new gadget for the Ipod family :-)

The iPod shuffle is an interesting product for a number of reasons.

Firstly from a pure technology minded point of view, it is a relatively small storage space flash media player. Something that intially Apple dismissed as a passing trend, but now as all Apple marketing goes they are trying to make it trendy. The genius behind the Shuffle is probably the one feature of the product that has defined it since its release, Simplicity.

The Shuffle is the bait of the whole Apple line, its release with the Mac Mini is a well though out marketing strategy. A strategy made to lure non-Mac users into the world of Apple. By releasing the Shuffle at such a competive price point they make a piece of the "Apple Lifestyle" affordable to a far wider range of people than ever before. The Shuffle is the bait, and the hook is its simplicity and lack of features. People will fall in love with the Mac way and then feel limited by the simplistic nature of the shuffle. They then will be seeking out more Mac Hardware, and conveinently Apple has just released its cheapest computer ever, the trap snaps closed with the harsh, yet soft white glow of beautiful marketing.

I just want one, true, but here is my true opinion. The shuffle is lightweight, whick is good. The headphones seem out of place, cuz the player is so small. It does the job well. Music sounds good. This just a trendy player, not a feature-packed device.

meh...GIVE ME ONE

hahaha first post, what a noob!

I love the iPod shuffle! I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to. Its size is just perfect and its controls seem so simple. I also like the design very much... but that's nothing new considering it's an Apple item.

ipod Shuffle might be a good choice for some but i really dont see the need why any iPOD user who already owns any of the ipods should bother with getting a shuffle... I like to have all my musics at a touch of a button not to have it in some chewing gum sized box and hope that i get a tune that i like.

Found one at Best Buy. They did not even have them dispayed. I am not that impressed. I miss the screen and ability to use differnet playlists. I think I will give it to my girlfriend for Vday. She will love it.

The iPod shuffle is hot. It's pretty darn cool to have like 5 hours (or more depending on model) of music around your neck.
I thought the mini was going to be really versatile, but I was sooo wrong. iPod Mini is kind of heavy and if you put it in your breast pocket it's really noticible.
The shuffle looks really lite and I can wear it around my neck and jog, ride my bike, walk, go to store, etc... with the shuffle. It's also really attravtive, more so than the mini and all the other iPods.

The reason I may buy a shuffle, instead of sticking with my rio cali is the convenience of using one software package to handle all my music and sync chores. The absent display is a non issue for exercise but the hassle of maintaining & managing parallel playlists in iTunes and rio music manager is a pain. The real reason I haven't bought one yet is Apple's sheer perversity in charging $30 for an armband to hold the thing. My rio came with one gratis and the big price tag is an obvious lack of respect for the consumers they're trying to recruit.

Ipod Shuffle is just right for now

I am very pleased to have the optiopn to get Apple's new iPod. It is just the right size and all I really need. I only listen to a small selection of tunes at any given time anyway. And the extra space is perfect for moving data around as needed. The randomness of the playlist is something I have done in the past anyway and now it has just been made easier! I hope they sell a billion of them. (Just add more room and firewire and better earphones someday all at the same price! Sigh!!!) And they sure make great gifts!

I am a new convert to Apple. The iPod 40 G sold me. The interface is intuitive and elegant. I will convert my wife. The Shuffle is exactly what someone uses when they, don't want to know how it works and just wants to play, music should be. Apple's version of plugnplay!

Bigdaddyc69 wins the 3rd iPod shuffle!
Congratulations from the iPodlounge team.

Apple has done an amazing job with regards to value with their new product offerings especially with the shuffle! Even just sering as a flash drive is pretty comparable in value to the industry and having the mp3 functions and the earphones is just a bonus! kudos to Apple!
