NEW 2G shuffle = WEAK CLIP !!!

Sorry to bring *more* bad news but the clip is very weak on the new shuffle and it won't hang from a shirt while running.

Mine seems to work just fine (?). Since the unit weighs next-to-nothing, the clip dosn't need tons of spring tension. I tried clipping it to my sleeve and jumped around pretty violently and it didn't slip off. I plan on keeping it on my sleeve or waistband while working out.

The clip on mine is perfect also. The fact that Apple misled me to believe I was getting the new headphones really ####es me off, but other than that, it's good.

Thumbs up

I just did 6 miles this morning of moderate running (training for a 10K this winter), and I didn't have any issues w/ the clip. Since I wear a running tank, I just clipped it to my shoulder strap. Didn't budge (and I move my arms/upper torso a fair bit).

Don't know what to say except to maybe compare your clip w/ another unit or to try a different location?

Also, for some reason, I didn't think we'd get the new headphones w/ this unit. All of the pictures I've seen had the unit w/ the older headphones. But, no matter to me since I don't use the "came-with" headphones anyway.

Sorry you're not entirely happy.

well i took it out for a run and was successful with the clip by using it on the top band of my shorts. i stand by the fact that the clip is not strong, for example you can put your finger in it and feel no real pressure squeezing your finger, i was expecting (perhaps by all of your comments, wrongly expecting) a much stronger clip almost like those black binder clips. Many of the photos on apple.com such as the one with the shuffle clipped to a jean jacket and hanging down are in fact IMHO misleading on how you would want to do.

100% correct that all the photos on apple.com showed the old headphones... still wish we got the new ones.

i love the darn little thing of its size, and i can get used to having it on my pants band but after seeing the photos etc. i thought the clip would be a bit different.

OK so everybody's is the same, I thought mine was messed up. The clip is basically useless unless you clip it pointing down.

If you're worried about it sliding off your shirt or whatever, after you clip it, just squeeze the clip a little, that'll make the "teeth" dig in a little more and there will be less of a chance for it to slide off. Clipping it on a beltloop works perfectly .

I have the Apple Radio Remote, the control of which looks like a 2g Shuffle. In comparison to my new 2g Shuffle, the Radio Remote clip is slightly stronger than the Shuffle clip.

My clip is fine and strong enough to hold hanging from my sleeve while running

When I get mine, I'll be considering it. I have little use for the clip, my iPods always go IN my left pocket, nowhere else.

Clip seems fine to me, I ran three miles yesterday with the Shuffle clipped the waist band of my shorts. I don't think I would try to run with it fully suspended by the clip.
