Its been a while since Ive been on these forums.
The other day I let my brother take my shuffle with him on his run. I give him two armbands to use while he runs. One to put on the skin, the other to put over the other armband, and tell him to put the shuffle inbetween them. The first day he wears a long sleave shirt and puts on sweatband over it and puts the shuffle in between the two. The next day he comes home and asks me why the shuffle stopped working 10 mins into his run. I say "I dont know, maybe the battery is dead". He says the battery button was still green. I find out he had the shuffle was in direct contact with the skin. I also find out from my brother that he left it on his skin for another 15 minutes during his run. I am not happy. I pop it into the computer and the computer doesnt recognize it. I press the battery button and no light appears. I try and play it and it doesnt play.
I have heard other people say sweat has gotten into their shuffle and to leave it alone for a few days to dry out. I left my shuffle alone in my car to try and dry it out. Yesterday I plug it into my computer, and my computer recognizes it. I update my shuffle on my computer. Today I try and play it and it doesnt play. The computer recognizes the shuffle, but the shuffle doesnt play.
My question is about the one year limited warranty. I bought the shuffle on August 18, 2005. If I submit an honest claim to Apple online about what really happened, what will happen?
If I submit a claim saying that all of a sudden the shuffle isnt playing, what will happen?
So am I stuck with a dead shuffle that Apple wont repair under warranty? I guess my shuffle is not a usb memory stick that no longer plays music. Any thoughts? Thanks.
