I ordered my ipod the day after they came out in 2005. I've been using it on a regular basis ever since.

Already though, I've been having battery problems. Thursday I plugged my ipod into my (desktop) Mac's USB port (in the back of the computer- not a keyboard port), and let it charge until the battery status light turned green (about 4-5 hours).

I listened to it for about 2 hours yesterday, and maybe 1 hour today, and already my status light is red!

Any ideas why my battery is (seemingly) almost gone?

Thanks!

well...

i am not really an expert at this...but i think it has something to do with the bitrate, i think. if it is set at a high bitrate it will drain more battery energy, right? well, someone has to confirm or deny what i said, because, like i said before, i am not really an expert at this.

if all else fails, maybe you can send the shuffle back to apple and get a new one? or maybe go to the apple store and they will do it on the spot?
