iPod updater

We all know the first updater with version 1.1.2 made almost everyone who used it crazy with anger because invariably it would ruin the iPods. There is a new edition of the updater (because of the 5g). I want to ask you: has anyone tried the current updater? I'm thinking that MAYBE Apple fixed the issues the last one had and the current one may be safe. What do you think? Anyone?

I have had 1.1.2 on my shuffle since it was released and still no issues,

According to the site, the last firmware update was iPod Updater 2005-10-12 and for 1.1.2.

Where did u see a newer 1?

That is the Updater version I am reffering to. It has version 1.1.2 of the Shuffle software. But Apple is famous for silent corrections of issues it has not recognised publicly... and I was just asking if any of you have tried the Windows version of the Updater 2005-10-12 on your iPod Shuffles

yeah... well i don't use itunes and would not recommend it for winamp users. It's a major interface change and I really don't get it why iTunes (designed for apple products) has so many incompatibilities with iPods and winamp does not
