Arrow HELP!! : iPod Shuffle Headphone Jack

Hi there,

I purchased my shuffle ~2-3 months ago, and in the past week, the headphone jack has began to act up.

What I mean by this is that when I plug in my headphones/earphones (I have tried several different pairs/types) into the jack and listen to the music, the sound only appears in one of my earphones. However, once I move the headphone wire a slight bit, the problem is solved as the music is in both earphones. Nonetheless, if the wire is moved again, the sound is lost from the left (usually) earphone and sometimes the right earphone.

Is there a solution to this problem?

If I decide to send the Shuffle back to Apple, will I be charged for service?

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Re: HELP!! : iPod Shuffle Headphone Jack

either send it in. or take it to a local apple store. you will not be charged. from what i have heard, if you decide to do it through the mail, they mail you a new one, and you put yours in the package and mail it back (its already paid for). couldn't get much easier than that.

oh ok thanks zipper.

i was just checking because in the warranty, it mentioned that there was a $30 charge for sending the shuffle in, after the six month warranty, but it never mentioned anything about charges before 6 months of the warranty were up.

is there anything other than the shuffle that i need to send in? because im pretty sure ive lost my lanyard and my earphones ( ).

i have never had to do it, but i'm 90% sure they'll just want the shuffle back and won't ask for the other stuff.
