Hello all. New to this forum and not great with computers so bare with me.
I just bought the 7th generation nano and would like to transfer my PLAYLISTS over from my 4th generation nano. These songs from the 4th gen. Nano are not in my iTunes library. 98% of these songs were just put on threw a SD card from my brothers computer. Here is my questions: Is there a free third party software that i can use to transfer each playlist from my 4th gen to the 7th? |

Not that I know of.
But there are pay programs like CopyTrans that allows you to do that. You are running a big risk not having your playlists in iTunes. When that iPod says it need to be restored due to a random gamma ray, you will lose everything on it. Use one of these programs to get the playlists into iTunes, then sync the 7th gen nano to iTunes and you'll have a backup of your iPod on your PC. You should also backup the PC too.

Copytrans is exactly what I was looking for. Even though its not free Ill buy the program for $20 to transfer all the songs onto iTunes and then to the new nano. However they do give you 100 free song transfers. Thanks for the tip!

If you haven't bought CopyTrans yet (I love that program). There is a free alternative, MusicRescue. It requires you click "OK" every 50 songs but it is free.
