Ok so my ipod nano 6th gen has gone through the wash and the screen has stopped working. Initially, i put it in the hot water cupboard and it was working for a day but now the screen just wont turn on. I have opened it up to dry it out with rice and that didnt work either. The strange thing is that it still connects to the computer and registers in itunes.
So my question is: is there anyway to determine if the chip(motherboard) is fried or if it just needs a new screen replacement? Thanks in advance

My guess is that if it syncs, all it needs is a new screen. But there may be hidden issues you are not aware of like battery life is now 0, or the buttons no longer work.
You might be better off replacing it than fixing it.
