newbie

Hello all, I am new to this forum. My ?? is how do i delete duplicate songs from nano, seems i have to do each one separately, (frustrating) also,why do i get all the duplicates in the first place? thank you.

did you have it on manually, if so you will have dup songs... try to do sync automatic to avoid dup songs
But be careful with sync auto may delete your previous song.
You can delete your song in iTunes.. under the ipod icon there is Music section click in there and delete songs in there. You have to do one by one.
Fastest way is to have all the music you wanted in your itune library and then sync it.. do all over again.

Typically the iTunes sync method does not make duplicates. It typically uses 1 copy of the song with pointers to it from all the places the song needs to be.

You will see the song in Artists->Albums->Songs, Songs, Playlists that include it etc.

It is one copy of the same song.

I agree that using auto-sync then switching to manual is the fastest way to set up your iPod.

Do you have the latest software updates from Apple? I had this problem when I first got my iPod, but it was fixed by subsequent updates.
