I am buying a new nano becasue:-

Well I dont have an ipod, my 4g 20gb ipod died a few months ago and I have been waiting for the upgrades.

I was going to go for a nano for sure (was hoping for 16gb) as I wasn't sure the touch ipods would be coming so the itouch threw me a curve ball.

I have been mulling it over and

I need an ipod
I want something small and will always have a use for it (even if its just running or traveling light days)
I dont use video yet on my ipod but - will do with an itouch

I can easily envisage owning a nano and a larger capacity ipod because the nano is so versatile.

So I am buying a 8gb nano and will buy an itouch when they jump in capacity that way all my bases are covered and I will have 2 usable ipods instead of buying one that I will replace in 6 months - besides the itouch is WAY too expensive for that!

I have ordered an 8gb nano knowing I am going to upgrade to a touch when the capacity jumps but this way i will still have a decent ultraportable in the nano after the upgrade.

When the nano gets to 16GB I'll be updating, but until then no dice for me. my 2G nano will hold me over just fine.

In fact going with a 16GB model *MIGHT* be the last time I'll have to get a iPod update.
