Hello,
I am very new to my ipod. I barely know how to download songs from my cds, so please bear with me with new techie questions! Thanks! I was wondering if there are sites out there where I can pay a set amount/monthly amount to download as many songs as I want. Also, when I downloaded a cd it says on my playlist track 1,track 02 etc. So I changed them and wrote the names of the songs only to find it didn't save it. How do I get it to stick? TIA! |

If you are connected to the internet and you 'rip' (copy songs from CDs) to iTunes, then iTunes will automatically look up the name of the album, songs, artist, and genre. Also, if the album is available on the iTunes store, then it will automatically download the album art. Personally I would not want to pay a monthly subscription fee for music I may not want and of dubious quality. The iTunes store charges 99 cents U.S. a track which is a fair price. That way I can pick and choose the songs I like and make up my own playlists.

Welcome. First with CD's, if your using iTunes, highlight one track then go to Advance>Get track names. If iTunes doesn't get the names highlight another song and continue doing so until the titles appear.
For writing in CD titles yourself you need to highlight the song then right click & select 'get info' > info section. Then type in the information in each field. When done click 'ok' and this will set the tags. You can then import the CD afterwards. As for sites to download music you can use iTunes Store, [iurl=http://www.emusic.com/]eMusic[/url], WalMart, Rhapsody as well as others. You can search for others using Google "music download sites". See our Consolidated List of Free Music Websites and our Free Music forum here.
