Questions about iPod Nanos.

I'm not sure whether I should buy an ipod nano or video but I'm more siding towards the nano but I need to clear some things up.

Are nanos likely to break if you go for runs with them? Like would the whole heap of movement be a problem? It seems there are a lot of accessories for iPod nanos so if anyone has any suggestions of which would be the best to keep the ipod on my body while running (long distances) I would be appreciative.

Also is the whole compatibility issue with apple products and vista okay now?

Sorry if these questions have already been answered, I'm really horrible with forums.

Thanks in advance.

The nano is completely solid state so shaking won't do anything to it, just keep sweats away and that's about it.

Compat with Vista still hit&miss.

So if I buy a strap and/or like a casing for it, it should be all okay?

Do you know if Apple is still working on it though?

Actually, it would be the other way around. The video would be more prone to breaking since it has a hard drive with moving parts, while the Nano uses flash. Nothing moves in there, so theoretically, it will last longer in general.

Since your a runner you will probably be interested in the Nike + iPod Sport Kit. There are pouches that tie in to laces for the sensor if you don't want to get the shoes.

The nano uses flash memory and is great to use for active pursuits like running and working out at the gym. Just make sure it doesn't get wet (sweat is toxic.)

There are any numbers of cases/attachments to use for exercise. Agent 18 Shock Kit or Titan Clear case both give you a case plus a number of attachments (clip, armband, lanyard, etc.) so you can choose what suits you best for a given activity.

If you want to watch video and listen to music then the Video iPod is what you want to buy. However, it's bigger, has less battery capacity when viewing videos, and while running it might skip because it stores the data on a hard drive. If all you want to do is listen to music, then the Nano is the one to get. It's solid state, no skipping, and it's much smaller and lighter. As for Vista and iTunes see the following:

Good Luck!
