It's a normal occurance, probably just a glitch in the HD or OS. Not a big deal unless it happens often.

It's the same thing with a Mac, Eric. The exact same phenomenon.

HD - Hard disk

HDD - Hard drive

Mac - Macintosh Operating System

OS - Operating System

Thanks
Astually I knew that, but the guy is talking about hid Nano which if it anything like mine doesn't have an HD, and then somehow folk started talking about whether he had a PC or a Mac rather than the Nano problem. The advice about the reboot was spot on though.

iPod nanos actually do have an "HD" technically, as it has a flash drive. HD is the generic term.

Erm I think you'll find HD stands for Hard Disk (as opposed to Floppy Disk).

This is what my mate wipi says:

ha (hard disk drive) or hard drive(HD) and formerly known as a fixed disk) is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Strictly speaking, "drive" refers to an entire unit containing multiple platters, a read/write head assembly, driver electronics, and motor while "hard disk" (sometimes "platter") refers to the storage medium itself.

So I win and I am best and stuff. So what do you think BIOS stands for? (Go on, no checking first )

Please note the 'I am best' stuff is said in a very ironic, self mocking way. God I'm bored. (and boring)

Ah, you're right. Thanks for correcting me. HDD stands for hard drive.

BIOS - Bobb-Mini Is Overly Sarcastic?

MJ, in addition to BIOS' comment, what are YOUR feelings re: adding cross fading as a new feature as part of the next Nano 1G OS upgrade....

There's going to be an update on the 1G nano? Wow am I out of things...

I like the feature, but I would much rather prefer gapless playback since sometimes the fading cuts out some parts at the end.
