I have an iPod Touch 8GB and I am currently restoring and updating. It has taken over 30 minutes and it's no where near finished. How long should it normally take. My friends 8GB nano took 2 hours to update. Is that normal?
or does technology hate me??

Hi and welcome to iLounge.
While I'm hoping that you're well past this point by now, it is normal for an iOS device restore to take a while if you're upgrading to iOS 4.x on an older device (like an 8GB iPod touch). The iOS 4 update process actually does a full backup of your device, including all of your media content, before restoring and updating to the new iOS version, On the other hand, two hours to restore an iPod nano (or any click wheel iPod) is definitely not normal.
