As you probably know, a skinned nano won't fit in an aluminum case because of the foam padding ( I believe most cases have this). I find it a PITA to remove my skin in order to use the case (which I only like to use occasionally) so I ripped out the foam padding, filed a little slot for the lanyard connector and it fits perfectly.
An added benefit is that I have a skin that covers the click wheel so now I don't need any protective film. This is a cheap case and skin by Insten (~$10 for both on ebay) ![]() ![]()

At first I thought you took the aluminum off a 2G nano and stuck it in a 1G nano to make it look like a 2G.
