Try restarting the computer and then open iTunes,This will sometimes get the devices communicating again. If your iPod appears on the Source list, then you're good to go.If not,try the next step:With your iPod connected to the puter, open the IPOD UPDATER application. If it recognises your iPod,it means your puter and iPod can communicate. If the Update button is active, update your iPod's software. If not, restoreits software instead. Then, repeat Step 1.If iTunes still doesn't show the iPod,download and reinstall iTunes.Step 3:If the iPod Updaterdoesn't recognise your iPodand instead displaysthe message"Connect an iPod to your puter to update it",there is a communication prob with your puter and the iPod.Try plugging the iPod into a diff USB port.If there's still no communication, there's a prob with the puter or the iPod.(FromAbsolute beginner's guide to iPod and iTunes.)
