Nano w/ JBL On Stage II not working

I picked up a JBL ON STAGE™* II w/RF REMOTEand I am not getting any sound when I use my iPod Nano. I have hooked up an Ipod Mini to the speakers it works fine.

I have also tried to hook up the nano to my Alpine KCA-420i iPod Control Interface and I dont get any sound either. When I plug the Nano to the Control Interface I will see the Alpine Logo on the Nano and I will even see the name of the song on the car radio but there is no sound. Am I doing somethingwrong? Thanks.

Sorry for no URL's but the forum wouldn't let me. Just google the names of the products and it should pop up.

Have you tried the latest iPod Updater?

apple.com/ipod/download/

-----------

Edit: a simple reboot might help too.

This is a known problem and has been discussed here before. Two ways to fix it:

1) Update to firmware version 1.1
2) Install and remove headphones to engage the audio output before attaching it to your On Stage or Alpine.

I had the same exact problem before. From what I read somewhere, the serial data locks up the ipod when something bad happens...like not let any serial data come out. That is why when you hook up your external devices to play sound, it doesn't work. Just reset your ipod, hold down menu and center button, and all your problems will go away. I suggest updating firmware, too.
